A City of origin is the Palaces probably "tartesso", that in Roman epoch minted currency and took the name of "Searotinos", transforming in Arab epoch in "zaracatín". Villafranca was founded by Alfonso XI, who transferred his Don Diego López de Arnedo as "Frank Town", free to pay taxes; this one family had it until Carlos II incorporated it into the Crown.

For the long time two Towns were separated by one alone "street", joining finally, in the year 1.836.
In the center of this street there was a "cross of stone" that was serving of Court to dissolve the disputes between the inhabitants of one and another place.
